One Last Word of Advice: Don’t QUIT!

Posted: November 27, 2009 in Uncategorized

Throughout his illustrious NBA career Allen Iverson has been known as everything except a quitter. A term Allen’s former coach Larry Brown used when saying Allen “has more in the tank and shouldn’t give up.” Maybe inquiring that coach Brown is possibly opening the doors for retired NBA player Allen Iverson to come down to Charlotte and play for his Bobcats. The possibility of this happening is slim considering the Bobcats are still semi-rebuilding and hold a current record of 5-9. It seems unlikely that Allen would join a team unless it had a clear shot of winning the NBA title this season. Many analysts already agreed that Memphis was a bad stop for Allen and that a strong Charlotte team missing a few pieces would make a sensible destination for the 10 time all-star. Since the retirement we already hear whispers of the late great Celtic team looking at putting Iverson in the white and green, but nothing has been confirmed yet. It’s a shame that we have seen a great player (in a sense) forced into an early retirement, but hopefully this isnt the last draw.

Allen Iverson announced that he’s retiring from the NBA. But is that really the last we’ve seen from...

I have a different take on the whole Iverson situation. The Phila Sixers seem to be in some dire straits with their team. Eddie Jordan was suppose to bring some discipline and direction to the team – and to date that hasn’t happened. I have heard some airbourne talk about AI and his team of lawyers are talking to the Sixers front office about a possible comeback deal. Truth is, only Iverson knows how much he has “left in the tank”. He won’t take to kindly to having to ride the pine. That’s not what he wants to do. He wants to be a star. He refuses to believe he has a little tarnish on his not so bright star.
